Welcome to Zion Lutheran School
We’re so glad you’re here! Whether you’re a returning family or exploring Zion for the first time, we invite you to discover what makes our school a place where students thrive academically, grow spiritually, and feel genuinely known and loved. Our website is designed to help you learn more about our mission, programs, and the vibrant community that makes up the Zion Family.
At Zion Lutheran School, we serve students from Kindergarten through 8th grade in a nurturing, Christ-centered environment. Our mission is to guide students toward academic excellence and prepare them to be Christian leaders. With a curriculum aligned to Illinois State Standards and enriched with daily faith formation, Zion provides a strong foundation in both academics and character. Students benefit from small class sizes, hands-on learning, 1:1 technology access, robust fine arts and athletics programs, and the opportunity to grow in grace through daily devotions, weekly chapel, and service projects. As the last accredited private school in Macoupin County, Zion continues to be a trusted partner in education for families across Staunton and surrounding communities.
Our Early Childhood Education Center offers preschool and daycare programs for potty-trained children ages 3–11. Led by certified, faith-filled staff, our preschool provides structured, age-appropriate learning in letter recognition, phonemic awareness, motor skills, and social development through play, music, and movement. Our daycare program extends this learning in a safe and nurturing setting with curriculum-based activities, creative play, and Christian values woven throughout each day. With both full-time and part-time options available, Zion’s early childhood offerings are designed to meet the needs of working families while preparing little learners for a smooth transition into elementary education.
